VR GP

The General Practitioner reports to the Practice Principal/Practice Manager and is responsible for providing competent, patient-centred care that addresses health needs and promotes wellness, in line with current evidence, guidelines and legislative requirements. This includes conducting skilled health assessments, diagnosis and treatment, ordering and following up diagnostic tests, referring patients appropriately, and documenting all care accurately within patient health records. The role requires maintaining good medical practice through ongoing professional development, a current resuscitation certificate, and up-to-date knowledge of general practice legislation and standards, while building trust with patients through courteous, culturally respectful care and open handling of feedback or complaints. The GP is also expected to work collaboratively with colleagues on rosters, patient cover and practice accreditation activities, to maintain integrity in billing and reporting practices, to keep immunisation status current, and to contribute to clinical governance responsibilities such as risk management, chronic disease management and infection control. Beyond clinical duties, the successful candidate should demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, honesty, diligence, confidentiality, and a genuinely patient-focused approach, along with the required qualifications: current registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board (AHPRA), vocational registration with the RACGP, and current medical indemnity insurance.

Vitalis Family Medical Practice is a GP-owned practice in Kirrawee with a genuinely friendly, collegiate team — it's been part of the local community for 10 years and doesn't feel like a corporate setup. You'd be joining a team of 10 GPs (3 female, 7 male), backed up by three highly skilled RNs handling care plans, health assessments, cervical screening and immunisations, plus an on-site physio and dietitian, so there's plenty of support and you're not doing it all solo. There's also an on-site chemist and pathology for patient convenience, and visiting specialists come through regularly too, a respiratory and sleep paediatrician, a colorectal surgeon, and an orthopaedic surgeon, so you've got good specialist backup close at hand. On top of that, the practice has a solid, well-established patient base of almost 6,000, and the location is great: a five-minute walk to South Village Shopping Centre for restaurants and supermarkets, easy on-site parking, and a ten-minute walk to Kirrawee Station with a direct line to Cronulla or the Sydney CBD.
